About the Kia Sorento Mileage Blocker

The Kia Sorento Mileage Blocker is a plug-in CAN-bus module made specifically for the Kia Sorento (2014-2026). It fits in-line on the wiring behind the instrument cluster using connectors that match the factory loom, so there is no cutting, splicing, soldering or software coding. With the module active, the distance signal reaching the cluster is paused or reduced according to the mode you select; the speedometer and everything else on the dash keep working as normal.

Because it works at the wiring level rather than through the OBD port, it does not write anything to the car’s memory, does not trigger warning lights, and can be unplugged at any time to return the vehicle to standard. It is intended for dyno sessions, remapping and testing, track and off-road use, and vehicle development.

Options

• Short cable – standard length, sized to sit directly behind the cluster.
• Extended cable with quick removal (+$89) – roughly 45 cm (18 in) of extra cable plus a quick-release connector, so the module can be tucked behind a kick panel or lower dash trim and unplugged in seconds when needed.

Operating modes

1. Mode 1 – Odometer paused – no distance is recorded while the module is active. Speedometer: off.
2. Mode 2 – Reduced recording – only 10% of distance is recorded. Speedometer: percentage.
3. Mode 3 – Reduced recording – only 50% of distance is recorded. Speedometer: percentage.
4. Mode 4 – Pass-through – the car records mileage and shows speed exactly as standard.

On pre‑facelift models (up to 2024, depending on region), the Mileage Blocker integrates seamlessly with the vehicle’s systems. Cruise control continues to operate normally, including single mph/kmh increments, and the exact speed remains visible where applicable. Most assist systems function as usual, and the driving experience remains unchanged while the device is active. | With the facelift models, Kia/Hyundai introduced a revised ADAS platform. Because of this updated architecture, certain assist features — including cruise control — may temporarily become unavailable when the blocker is activated. This behaviour is expected on the newest generation and does not indicate a fault. Once the device is switched off, all systems immediately return to full functionality without leaving permanent errors. | Mode 3 (available only on MQ4 platforms) operates both odometer and speedometer at 50% of real values.

How to change mode: Flash the high beams 4 times in quick succession.
